FAQs

If you are importing food products in India, you need to apply for IEC (Import export code) and thereafter, apply for FSSAI Central license online before the start of import.

Food License is mandatory for all Food Business Operators including all manufacturer, Re-Packer, trader, retailer, wholesaler, supplier, Transporters, importer & exporter etc.

For Export of food products outside India, you need FSSAI Central license. FSSAI Central license can be obtained within 10-20 working days.

FBO is required to submit yearly return to FSSAI Department by 31st May of following financial Year. The return requires filling the details in form D-1 about the business activities such as manufactured quantity or Export or Import Value.
